Announcing the HP Certified Professional Hall of Fame

We want to hear about your accomplishments. Many of you in our certification community receive thank you letters or other forms of written recognition regarding the excellent work you did for your organization or a customer. If you have a special recognition you would like to share with us regarding your work involving an HP product, technology or solution…please send it to us. You are responsible for obtaining permission from your company or customer to reprint the letter/note of recognition. Kit Somal, Master ASE SAN Architect, provided the following thank you letter to us.

The HP Technology Forum 2006 is in the history books!

HP Technology Forum 2006 is in the history books, and by all accounts, it was another great technical training event! More than 1,100 HP Certified Professionals joined us in Houston, Texas, to learn about a broad range of technologies and solutions from HP and our partners. Thank you to all who attended. We’re pleased that you took the time to update your skills and expand your knowledge in your areas of interest.

Perhaps the hottest ticket in town was for the free HP Training Lab, where we provided Certified Professionals the opportunity to work through hands-on labs that are normally part of HP Training courses. The labs helped prepare people for real-world implementations of virtual array solutions, blade systems, management systems and more. The labs also yielded the opportunity for Certified Professionals to prepare for additional certification exams.

Nearly 350 Master ASEs enjoyed the annual MASE Luncheon, where we recognized the people who have attained the highest level of certification in the HP program. Thank you to all our MASEs, and keep up the great work!

It was great to hear from HP and industry leaders, including HP president and CEO Mark Hurd; HP EVP and CIO, Randy Mott; HP EVP Ann Livermore; and of course our guests from Intel and Microsoft. It always helps to see the bigger picture of where HP and the IT industry in general is heading.

While our Certified Professionals worked hard all week, attending technical sessions and hands-on labs, we all enjoyed the lighter moments of HP Technology Forum. Like Prize Patrol, the receptions, the HP block party with Hootie and the Blowfish, the Houston Astros game, and the camaraderie in the HP Certified Professional hospitality suite. Thank you to all who stopped by to say hi. It was great to put faces to the names that we see in our emails and on the certificates! If you don’t mind sharing….please send Barbara Sandro a copy of all the pictures you took this year at the event. Barbara plans to create an HPCP Photo Gallery of pictures taken over the years. Email your pictures to Barbara.Sandro@hp.com OR mail to 7011 Amber Court Houston, Texas 66069.

Mark your calendar now for HP Technology Forum 2007, which will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, June 18-21. HPTF 2007 will be even bigger and better than ever as we add even more technical content to keep you at the top of your game!

HP announces credentials for HP Certified Professionals who provide authorized printer maintenance and support services

The Americas HP Certified Professional Program is announcing the availability of two new credentials that greatly simplify partner authorization for printer maintenance and support work. The new credentials are:

  • Accredited Platform Specialist (APS): HP LaserJet Solutions [2006], and
  • Accredited Platform Specialist (APS): HP Designjet Solutions [2006].

HP service partners that conduct printer warranty work are required to employ HP Certified Professionals who hold the credential(s) appropriate for the products they service. This ensures that the service technician has the basic skills and knowledge to begin training on specific commercial HP Imaging and Printing products and provide customers with the highest standards of product support. Adding certification testing reduces redundancy in HP Imaging and Printing product self-paced and instructor-led training as well.
