Here's your first action item for 2007…place this important date on your calendar. It's never too early to talk to your manager about attending this great technical event. The HP Technology Forum 2007 will be held June 18-21, at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Program Office will provide on-going email communications regarding this upcoming event.

HP offers "practice" certification tests

The HP Certified Professional Program invites you to participate in a pilot initiative. We have just made available a set of "practice" tests to help prepare you before taking the "official" certification exam. We'd like to know if you find this to be a valuable resource.

If this initiative proves to be successful and we determine that candidates do derive significant value from taking practice tests, we will consider expanding the number of practice tests.

New credentials launched

New credentials have been added to the Americas HP Certified Professional portfolio. All requirements for these new credentials are located on the Americas certification website, located at: www.hp.com/go/certification/americas. To view requirements, login to the CertPro tool.

• APC - HP Integrity Servers [2006]
• AIS - HP Integrity Servers [2006]
• ASE - Specialty in HP ProLiant Servers c-Class Blades [2006]
• AIS - Specialty in HP StorageWorks Data Protector [2007]

Transitional and inactive credentials

Is there a change to any of the credentials you have earned? Here's the place to look for credential changes. The links below show all credentials that have a status other than "active" in the HP Certified Professional Program. Also shown here are paths to replacement credentials. You are not obligated to upgrade your older credentials, but we highly recommend that you keep your skills current by achieving one of the active credentials that is replacing yours. When you complete the requirements, you will automatically be awarded the new certification title.

Note to HP Partners: While you as an individual are not obligated to upgrade a certification, your employer may require that you obtain the latest version of a credential in order for the employer to remain authorized under HP Business Partner program requirements. Partner authorization changes are communicated directly to your employer.
