Proctored or High Stakes Exams (Exams starting with prefix HP0-XXX)

HP Certified Professional Program proctored exams are those exams that require you to demonstrate, in a controlled environment, the mastery of the subject being tested without the assistance of external tools and information resources. These tests are conducted in Prometric test centers throughout the world and are subject to very stringent rules. In particular, there may be no reference material, notebook or handheld computers or cellular telephones taken into the test environment.

Exam Retake Policy for HP0 Exams

  • In the event a candidate fails his or her first (1st) attempt to pass an HP0 HP Certified Professional Program examination, Hewlett-Packard does not require any waiting period between the first (1st) and second (2nd) attempt to pass such examination.
  • Before a candidate's third (3rd) attempt or any subsequent attempt to pass such examination, he or she shall be required to wait for a period of at least thirty (30) calendar days from the date of the last attempt to pass such examination.
  • In the event a candidate passes any HP Certified Professional Certification examination, he or she shall be required to wait for a period of twelve (12) calendar months before retaking the same examination, unless Hewlett-Packard has changed the test objectives for such examination.

Web-based or Low Stakes Exams (Exams starting with prefix HP2-XXX)

HP Certified Professional Program Low Stakes exams are those exams that require you to demonstrate, in an uncontrolled environment, the mastery of the subject being tested with the benefit of any external tools and information resources you choose. These tests are, however, time-bound and thus, a high degree of mastery is required in order to complete the exam in the given time. These tests are conducted on the web in a secure browser environment and therefore, may be taken in the office or at home 24 hours per day.
