Continuous learning 2008 is a mandatory requirement for all HP Certified Professionals.
Continuous learning 2008 requirements must be completed before December 31st, 2008.
If you achieve your certification in 2008 you do not need to take any continuous learning activities during the rest of the calendar year.
NonStop and HP Software (i.e. OpenView) certifications do not have a continuous learning 2008 requirement.
Four simple steps to complete continuous learning 2008
Select your focus area
Choose "Sales" if you hold a sales certification.
Choose "Technical" if you hold either a Presales, Integration or Operating Systems certification.
Choose "Hardware Support" if you hold an Accredited Platform Specialist (APS) certification. Click here to view a full list of all certifications with an continuous learning 2008 requirement.
Choose a technology family
Once you arrive on your focus area page choose a technology family you are certified in, i.e. Business Critical Systems
Select your preferred learning activity
Learning activities may consist of events, instructor-led, self-paced or web-based training as well as any other types of training.
Complete one activity per focus area
You only need to complete any one activity per focus area to fulfill your continuous learning 2008 requirement for this particular focus area. If you hold certifications in all three focus areas you must complete a minimum of three activities in total - one continuous learning activity per focus area. Of course, you may choose to do more learning activities . and we certainly encourage you to do so.
The 2008 continuous learning menus allow you to complete your requirement(s) with little or no travel costs.
Both instructor-led and web-based training activities are hosted in HP Smart Learning. To access HP Smart Learning you must log-in to the HP Student Portal using your HP Student ID and personal password. Make a note of the appropriate learning activity code and enter that learning activity code in the appropriate search field in Smart Learning.
Completion or non-completion of your continuous learning 2008 requirement(s) will be reported to you in your personalized HP Certified Professional Program monthly newsletter. Make sure your Email address is always up to date! This can be done on the HP Student Portal by simply logging in and editing your details in the "personal data" section.
