With more than a decade of experience working with HP, Pranee Bergman is the first woman, to survive HP's gruelling certification Boot Camp and walk away with an HP Master Accredited Systems Engineer (ASE) in HP Proliant servers. Bergman started working with HP servers in 1995 when she qualified as an ASE in HP Proliant servers with Microsoft. This initial qualification opened many doors for Bergman, enabling her to work on technical client accounts involving analysis, design, implementation and hosting of server solutions. Bergman is one of a small group of women within the HP Certified Professional Program. Her enthusiasm for technical design and implementation of Storage Area Network solutions combined with an excellent working relationship with HP, motivated her to progress to the highest level of HP certification. "I knew that the Boot Camp was going to be a tough nine days," said Bergman. "Passing all five exams with at least 80 percent success was no mean feat, and I was delighted both personally and professionally to obtain this top-notch certification. Today, Bergman is a consultant in IT infrastructure for Atea, the Nordic countries' a leading provider of advice, sales, distribution and integration services for IT products. During the past four years she has acquired a wide experience in all aspects of IT infrastructure. Bergman is one of 294 HP Certified Professionals who work at Atea. Her company recognized from an early stage that its initial investment in the HP Certified Professional program was quickly recuperated through increased business opportunities. Bergman and her colleagues' skills and knowledge are constantly evolving thanks to annual certification renewals via ongoing HP-hosted conferences, events and online trainings. "The Master ASE certification provides both broad and specialized knowledge, including tools, methodologies and technical skills that simplify working across the HP portfolio," said Pranee. "As a result, I am confident and autonomous in front of my clients." Bergman's comprehensive knowledge of HP servers was a deciding factor when selecting her to work on the Scania Trucks account, one of Atea's top customers. Bergman and her colleagues effectively deployed 40 HP blade servers running Citrix XP to host Scania Trucks' applications globally. In 2006 Scania Trucks plan to increase the total number of blade servers to 70 when it upgrades its current Citrix platform to Citrix Presentation Server 4.0. The HP Certified Professional program has been an invaluable advantage for Atea, ensuring its employees experience comprehensive and efficient HP knowledge acquisition. "We are 100 percent committed to HP's Certified Professional Program and encourage our staff to participate," said Björn Anzén, Solutions Area Manager, Atea. "It equips consultants like Pranee to provide a first-class customer experience, and played a significant role in Atea becoming an HP Preferred Partner." Currently studying for an ASE in HP StorageWorks, Bergman is a great example of how the HP Certified Professional Program, combined with HP's quality products and solutions, deliver real customer value-add. She is also a tremendous role model for all women in technology. |
