With more than 20 years of experience working with storage systems, Richard Jackson epitomizes UK-based RichardsoNEyres' tagline "Qualified people. Qualified solutions." An HP Certified Professional Program follower for the past five years, Jackson was the first person at RichardsoNEyres to earn HP's highest storage certification - a Master Accredited Systems Engineer (MASE) in HP StorageWorks. RichardsoNEyres, provides IT infrastructure and high-end server and storage solutions to large enterprises in the pharmaceutical, legal and oil exploration industries. One of eight HP Certified Professionals in the company, Jackson qualified as an ASE in HP StorageWorks in 2000. This first HP qualification had a significant impact on the company's bottom line. "Thanks to the expertise I acquired on the HP Certified Professional Program, RichardsoNEyres was the first UK company to install a Data Replication solution over Asyncronous Transfer Mode links using StorageWorks HSG80 controllers," enthused Jackson, Enterprise Systems Consultant, RicharsoNEyres. "Today, my HP certifications enable the company, unlike our non-certified competitors, to sell and install HP EVA solutions." Highly satisfied by what he learnt, Jackson supported by RichardsoNEyres decided to study for the next and final step in HP storage certification. "Passing nine exams was a real personal challenge," recollects Jackson. "However, it was well worth the effort. Today, I am at ease talking with engineers and technicians, which makes all the difference for our customers." The HP Certified Professional Program offers numerous advantages, ensuring Jackson has the technical knowledge to sell complex HP products and solutions. For example, he enjoys direct access into HP, by-passing the first level of support, invitations to quarterly Webinars and in-depth technology briefings. Benefits that are clearly appreciated by his company. "We fully support HP's Certfied Professional Program and regularly offer our employees the chance to participate," said Adam Kemp, Sales Manager, RicharsoNEyres. "The knowledge acquired through the program enables us to deliver true value-add to our customers and profitable growth for RichardsoNEyres." Last year a major UK-based oil exploration company benefited from Jackson and his team's extensive knowledge, when the company turned to RicharsoNEyres to implement a server consolidation project. RicharsoNEyres partnered with HP to provide an Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) 5000 SAN, an ESL tape library and 16 blade servers, virtualizing the company's existing server infrastructure onto blade servers. Based on the success of this initial deployment, Jackson is currently working with the customer to upgrade the solution to include an EVA8000 and 16 additional blade servers. This improved solution will ensure the customer has the necessary horsepower to host the company's applications that support its 2000-strong workforce. An HP Preferred Partner, RichardsoNEyres, is also one of a handful of partners who is certified as an HP Authorised Business Solutions Provider. One of the 10 specializations available to HP Preferred Partners, this qualification means that the company has met HP's rigorous requirements for technical services delivery. As a result, RicharsoNEyres operates as a preferred subcontractor for HP's solution delivery offerings. |
