New HP Software technical credentials

Four new HP Software credentials are now available:
» AIS - HP Performance Center v9
» ASE – HP Quality Center v9
» ASE – HP Performance Center v9
» AIS – HP Service Management Implementation [2008]

The above four credentials join the following three credentials launched on Nov 1, 2007 and continue to build the menu of HP Software credential offerings:

» AIS – HP Business Availability Center v6
» AIS – HP Quality Center v9
» AIS – HP Project and Portfolio Management v7

For a complete set of HP Software certification offerings, consult the Software section on the "All available credentials" page.
HP Software credentials and the legacy Mercury certified community
If you hold a "current" legacy Mercury credential that meets current HP credential requirements, you will be automatically grandfathered into one of the above credentials. Legacy LoadRunner candidates who hold the 8.x CPC credential must take the Performance Center upgrade exam [HP2-N16] in order to gain the ASE - HP Performance Center v9 before September 1, 2008, when the CPC credential expires.

To see how your particular credential maps to the new HP Software credential, consult the HP Software credentials upgrade chart.

HP Software launches first performance-based exams
For some products and applications, HP Software has launched the first set of exams that require demonstration of skills that map to advanced levels of competency. The new ASE credentials in “HP Quality Center v9” and “HP Performance Center v9” both require you to pass performance-based exams.

The Performance Testing Council defines 'performance-based testing' as a means of measuring individual competence by having the individual do the actual tasks or performances of their work environment.

How do performance-based exams work?
During the exam, candidates will engage with a virtual lab to answer test questions in a timed and proctored environment. HP Software accredited training locations will administer the performance-based tests. To view the location in your area that will offer performance-based exams, click on your region below:

Important! Update your personal profile
Be sure to visit your regional website and update your profile in order to receive your updated credential certificate from the HP Certified Professional Program. Click on your region below:
» Americas profile update
» Europe, Middle East & Africa profile update
» Asia Pacific profile update

Please allow 3 months for certificates to arrive.

NOTE: If you did not update your older credential prior to August 31, 2007, your credential did not qualify to transition automatically to the new HP Software credential and is no longer considered valid. To join the HP Certified Professional Program, you must take the required exams to earn an active credential.
