The Tru64 UNIX v5 Systems Administrator is focused on certifying basic installation, configuration, and Systems Administration skills on the Tru64 UNIX v5 operating system on HP AlphaServer systems. This certification is for IT professionals who present, demonstrate, discuss, deploy, or administer the HP Tru64 UNIX v5 operating system. Among the benefits of obtaining this certification, the candidate will be able to:

• Install and configure Tru64 UNIX on an AlphaServer System
• Perform basic Systems Administration tasks including adding users and groups, maintaining operating system services
• Use pre-compiled and source only packages to install and upgrade software packages
• Locate, install, and configure device drivers
• Utilize Korn Shell utilities and commands

Tru64 UNIX v5 Systems Administrator candidates must meet prerequisite and an additional HP exam for certification (see requirements below). Once the candidate has successfully completed these requirements, the candidate must submit an application to the Americas HP Certified Professional program. It is strongly recommended that candidates take the HP instructor-led courses in preparation for the exams. Courses available are listed in the table below.

Continuing Certification Requirements - Candidates may be required to complete Continuing Certification Requirements consisting of selected exams, training, or additional maintenance requirements as prescribed by HP.
