Rev. 18 Nov. 2002

The AIS AlphaServer/Tru64 UNIX v5 is focused on certifying advanced skills concerning the installation, configuration, and system tuning of the Tru64 UNIX v5 operating system on HP AlphaServers. This certification is for Systems Engineering professionals who present, demonstrate, discuss, deploy, or service HP AlphaServers using the Tru64 UNIX v5 operating system. Among the benefits of obtaining this certification, the candidate will be able to:

  • determine system capacity requirements for servers and workstations
  • use pre-compiled and source only packages to install and upgrade software packages
  • locate, install, and configure device drivers
  • configure HP network controllers
  • apply configuration tuning techniques to increase overall system performance

AIS AlphaServer/Tru64 UNIX v5 candidates must meet prerequisites and pass HP exams for certification (see requirements below). Once the candidate has successfully completed these requirements, the candidate must submit an application to the Americas HP Certified Professional program. It is strongly recommended that candidates take the HP instructor-led courses in preparation for the exams. Courses available are listed in the table below.
