Rev. 31 May 2002

The Master ASE Oracle on Windows is a certification targeted at ASEs who install, configure and integrate HP Servers with Oracle databases. Demonstrations, labs, and discussion sessions are focused on how to create an optimized installation and how to select a balance between performance, cost, and fault tolerance. Among the benefits of obtaining this certification, the candidate will be able to:

  • Identify the most common database environments and explain their major differences in terms of configuration.
  • Identify system hardware requirements for an Oracle server.
  • Perform scalability planning (processor, memory, disk, network) for an Oracle server.
  • Identify Oracle system sizing tools and explain their availability, features, and limitations.
  • Perform operating system and Oracle parameter monitoring and tuning tasks applicable to an Oracle8i server.
  • Perform troubleshooting of a HP/Oracle solution.

Master ASE Oracle candidates must meet prerequisites and pass additional exams for certification (see requirements below). Once the candidate has successfully completed these requirements, the candidate must submit an application to the Americas HP Certified Professional program. It is strongly recommended that candidates take the HP instructor-led courses in preparation for the exams. Courses available are listed in the table below.
