» How To Contact Us

The week of July 1 - 5 has been designated as a vacation week for U.S. HP sites. However, the Compaq Accredited Professional certification office will be open on Monday July 1 for those affected by the July 1st continuing certification requirement deadline. The Houston program office will be closed July 2 - 5. All U.S. HP sites will resume full operations on July 8, 2002.

ccr july 1 deadline
The July 1, 20002 deadline is fast approaching! In January 2002 we announced continuing certification requirements (CCRs) for a select group of designations. The designations affected by the July 1, 2002 CCR are:
» AIS ProLiant/NetWare
» AIS ProLiant/Windows NT
» ASE ProLiant/NetWare
» ASE ProLiant/Windows NT

So what exactly do I need to do?

  1. READ the requirements via the URL provided.
  2. Complete the CCR Completion Notification Form located here.
  3. Complete the Non-disclosure form (part of CCR Completion Notification Form)
  4. For ProLiant ASE-level (ProLiant/Windows and ProLiant/NetWare) CCRs, you must show proof of matching OS:
    • For MCSE: Windows NT 4 or Windows 2000, show us proof via your MCSE transcript
    • For CNE: NetWare 5 or 6, show us proof via your CNE certificate or transcript
  5. ASEs: Send the CCR Completion Notification Form, NDA and OS transcript/certificate to the Houston Program Office.
  6. AISs: Send the CCR Completion Notification Form, NDA and copies of required Prometric exams to the Houston Program Office.
You may fax the documents, send the documents as an attachment or mail them. You'll find all Program Office contact information on the website at: http://www.compaq.com/certification/na/contact_us.html.
  • Upon receipt of your documentation, you'll receive an email confirmation from the Houston Program Office.
  • If you do not receive an email confirmation from the Houston Program Office please call us at: 1-800-273-4812. Do not consider your CCR complete until you receive the email confirmation.

So how do I contact Microsoft or Novell to obtain copies of my transcript or certificate?

July 1 CCR Documentation Options
We've received calls indicating Compaq Accredited Professionals faxed their Continuing Certification Requirement (CCR) documents, but the Program Office has not received them. As we have communicated... you should receive a confirmation email from the Compaq Accredited Professional Program Office when we receive your documentation. Faxing is only one of the options available. We will also accept scanned files (attachments) sent to the program mailbox at northamericacap@hp.com, or you may send your documentation to us by mail using the following address:

Understanding Your Certification History On The Website
Check out the certification history feature on the website. You can now see the designations you currently hold. The certification history (now available on the web) has brought forward some questions regarding the display of the term "revoked" for some certification plans. Donna Green, Operations Manager, provides an explanation.

Maintaining Your Certification Status
While Continuing Certification Requirements (CCRs) are certainly one part of maintaining your certification status, there are other "housekeeping duties" that you must maintain so you continue to receive certification communications and benefits. If for some reason you haven't been receiving regular communications from the Houston Program Office... you may want to check your "profile" to ensure the Program Office has your current information. The "Profile" feature located on the home page of website allows you to make changes to your existing profile. Changes such as:

  • Company/Employer information
  • Email address changes
  • Home address changes
  • Telephone number changes

To ensure you continue to receive notification of exclusive offers, news and events associated with the Compaq Accredited Professional Program, it's important to keep your profile up-to-date. Program information is communicated via the monthly TidBytes newsletter or posted to the home page of the website. It's to your advantage to take some time and check your profile to make sure all your information is up-to-date.

64-bit (IA-64) Computing and the new HP
Prior to the merger, HP and Compaq were both selling Intel Itanium Processor Family (IPF) servers, primarily to meet the needs of early adopter customers and developers. HP's commitment to the Itanium Processor Family remains very strong, and we continue to see Itanium as the future 64-bit microprocessor. HP offers the industry's broadest range of servers based on the Itanium processor family (IPF) architecture. As co-inventor of the Itanium processor family architecture with Intel, HP has worked with the Itanium processor technology for years, developing a unique degree of depth and understanding. http://www.hp.com/products1/servers/architecture/itanium/index.html

The next-generation Itanium Processor Family servers (McKinley-based) will be the previously published HP Server roadmap, augmented by features from the ProLiant IA-64 roadmap. By the release of the third generation Itanium processor (Madison), HP will offer Itanium-based servers from the low end to the high end of our product line, including HP NonStop Itanium servers.

Our Industry Standard Server and Business Critical System business units will jointly deliver the Itanium-based server family roadmap supporting multiple operating environments in all relevant markets. In addition, HP will, over time, enhance its original plans by including the ProLiant management capabilities into Itanium servers.

This roadmap shows you how IPF development will pace that of PA-RISC and IA-32, giving you plenty of time to decide when the time is right to upgrade and move to a new platform. http://www.hp.com/products1/itanium/infolibrary/information/parisc_roadmap.html

What is the future of blade technology?
The new HP will continue to drive blade technology, and will move forward with two complementary product lines. The existing ProLiant BL line will be the industry-standard blade server family, with the pre-merger HP Blade Server line focusing on the telecom-specific market. The ProLiant BL roadmap will continue as previously announced; the pre-merger HP Blade Server family roadmap will be updated to reflect its new direction. http://www.compaq.com/products/servers/proliant-bl/e-class/index.html

The Business Case for a Zero Latency Enterprise
What if the moment a business event takes place on a website, in a call center, or anywhere along a supply chain all pertinent systems and people in the enterprise are instantly aware of the occurrence and equipped to act appropriately? This, in a sentence, is the promise of zero latency enterprise, or ZLE, computing. Find out more in the document 'The Business Case for a Zero Latency Enterprise' or visit the NonStop Computing Home Page.
