Certification Update
The worldwide Partner Presales organization has received executive direction to develop and implement a single global certification program within the new hp for sales, presales and services, employees, partners and customer audiences covering all product groups. This program will be known as the hp certified professional program. This program will build on the strengths and experiences of all the pre-merger certification programs of hp and Compaq (including HP STAR, HP Certified, Compaq Accredited Professional). The certification integration programs team held its first planning meeting in Boston in June, and work is underway to build a world-class program that will extend the benefits of hp's strong R&D portfolio through excellence in execution - led by you - as part of our extended technical community. We will keep you informed via newsletter updates.

Understanding Your Certification History On The Website
Check out the certification history feature on the website. You can now see the designations you currently hold. The certification history (now available on the web) has brought forward some questions regarding the display of the term "revoked" for some certification plans. Donna Green, Operations Manager, provides an explanation. Click here for details: ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/training/certification/VerifyingHistory.pdf

Maintaining Your Certification Status
While Continuing Certification Requirements (CCRs) are certainly one part of maintaining your certification status, there are other "housekeeping duties" that you must maintain so you continue to receive certification communications and benefits. If for some reason you haven't been receiving regular communications from the Houston Program Office... you may want to check your "profile" to ensure the Program Office has your current information. The "Profile" feature located on the home page of website allows you to make changes to your existing profile. Changes such as:

  • Company/Employer information
  • Email address changes
  • Home address changes
  • Telephone number changes

To ensure you continue to receive notification of exclusive offers, news and events associated with the Compaq Accredited Professional Program, it's important you keep your profile up-to-date. Program information is communicated via the monthly TidBytes newsletter or posted to the home page of the website. It's to your advantage to take some time and check your profile to make sure all your information is up-to-date.

HP Sparks A Digital Imaging Revolution
HP recently unveiled its $1.2 billion investment to reset the imaging and printing market. Between now and early 2003, HP will roll out worldwide more than 50 new imaging and printing products based on an investment of $900 million in manufacturing, $125 million in research and development and $200 million in marketing to roll out the single largest consumer product launch in the company's history and drive digital imaging mainstream.
