program updates – certification tests and beta exams

HP Beta Exam Information
A beta exam is a preliminary version used to ensure that the final exam is fair and reliable. Candidates who take the beta exams are participating with HP to set the appropriate requirements for certification. After a targeted number of candidates have taken the exam, the results are analyzed, the best questions are identified and a passing exam score is established.

Why take a Beta Exam?
  • It is FREE!
  • If you pass the beta exam, your record will indicate a passing score and you will receive credit for this exam. Therefore, you will not need to retake the final released version of the exam.
  • The beta exam is a great way to identify your strengths and weaknesses in the exam content being tested.

Beta Update: Free vouchers will not be offered to candidates who fail exams until further notice.

How to take a Beta Exam and what to expect:
  • Beta exams are available at all Prometric testing centers worldwide. To locate a center near you or to register for a beta exam, go to http://www.2test.com or call 1-800-366-3926.
  • Plan on a maximum of 4 hours to answer approximately 180-240 questions. You will NOT find out whether you passed the exam at the test center.
  • After the final version of the exam is available (up to 3 months), your results will be mailed to you directly from Prometric.

  links to technical newsletters

BCS Technical Connection newsletter excerpts available here
The Business Critical Systems Group publishes a technical newsletter intended for HP channel partners. We've taken excerpts of the July edition of that newsletter and made them available to the entire HPCP community here. If you are a channel partner, you'll want to read the regular Technical Connection newsletter that comes to you via the HP partner programs instead of this subset of information, as there is sales information that applies strictly to resellers. If you don't get Technical Connections, stay up on the latest news from BCS by reading this document.

Storage technical newsletter returns next month
We hope you've enjoyed reading the excerpts of the newsletter about network storage solutions. A newsletter was not developed for the month of July, but it will return in our next edition. Watch for excerpts in this HPCP newsletter in the next edition.

ISS Technology Update newsletter returns next month
The ISS Technology Update newsletter took a short break for the summer. No issue was published in July, but it will return in our next edition. As always, we'll bring you the news you need to know.
