  program updates

Transition/Migration Information into the new HP CP program...what do I need to do?
HPCP program migration plans were placed on the North America HP Certified Professional website in March 2003. To determine your migration plan (if required), access the information located at: http://h10017.www1.hp.com/certification/na/migration.html

What if there's no migration plan listed for my pre-merger certification title on the website? What does that mean?
  • Migration plans were developed only for those certification titles where an action is required by an individual to maintain his/her certification. If there is no migration plan listed for your pre-merger title, this means there is no action required on your part.
  • Many of the certification tracks are simply grandfathered into the new program and the individual will receive a new certificate and ID card. If this is the case, there will be no migration plan listed on the website.
May I get started completing my migration requirements before I receive the personalized letter from the Program Office?
  • Yes, you may begin completing the requirements identified on the website.
  • The website provides all the details regarding migration action items.

As the integration of the pre-merger databases continues, plans are still in place to send individuals personalized letters regarding certification status, migration action items, and new certificates and ID cards where applicable.

  certification tests and beta exams

HP Certified Professional program announces exam ID deadline
As a result of the merger of the Hewlett-Packard and Compaq companies, a new worldwide certification program was created...HP Certified Professional.

The HP Certified Professional program brings together proud histories of industry-leading certification programs such as:

  • Compaq Accredited Professional
  • HP Certified
  • HP STAR
  • HP OpenView
  • HP Support

Beginning 5 May 2003 all pre-merger program exam numbers 010, 3H0, 1H0, 1R0, at Prometric will begin with HP0. (Most exam series ID numbers (last 3 numbers) will stay the same; however, a couple of IDs will change due to overlapping numbers.)

So what changes can you expect beginning May 5, 2003?

  • The pre-merger program exam numbers (both HP and Compaq) will no longer be available at Prometric for registration.
  • The new exam numbers "HP0" will replace the old exam numbers. Be sure to use the new exam numbers "HP0" at the time of registration.
  • All vouchers from the pre-merger programs are valid and will work under the new HP Certified Professional (HP CP) program. You do not need new HPCP vouchers.
  • NO change to the candidate registration process; registration will be available via two options:
    • Website
    • Testing Center Call Centers

For information on new test numbers, please visit: www.hp.com/go/certification/examinfo

For information on the HP Certified Professional program, please visit our website: www.hp.com/go/certification/na
