| Belkin plugs in HP Superdome system; unplugs Sun |
HP announced that Belkin Corporation, a leading manufacturer of connectivity solutions and enterprise options, has migrated to the HP 9000 Superdome server and HP-UX operating system to run its critical business applications. The high-end UNIX® HP Superdome server is providing a stable, reliable environment for manufacturing, payroll and other core business functions at Belkin, one of the fastest growing private companies in the United States. After selecting HP to replace the Sun Solaris system for IT consolidation in its main corporate data center, Belkin realized a performance increase averaging 250 percent, allowing the company to speed its business processes, position itself for future growth and realize the benefits of the HP Adaptive Enterprise strategy by tightening the linkage between business and IT.

- Newly expanded line of HP Integrity rx2600 and rx1600 server options available in scalable Linux-based HP XC6000 clusters, doubling the number of XC6000 server options
- InfiniBand 4x for Integrity clusters, which triples the Integrity Clusters interconnect bandwidth while substantially reducing interconnect latency
- High Performance Cluster LC Series is expanding with the LC1000 Series, based on the Intel Xeon dual processor based HP ProLiant DL140 performance server designed for "scale-out" deployment and superior price per gigaFlop
- HP's leadership on the Lustre-based scalable, shareable, open file system for HPTC Linux clusters
- Record benchmark results for HP Integrity servers on several important high-performance computing benchmarks, including: SPEC HPC2002, SPEC OMP, and the new Purdue TAP benchmark ratings
- Worldwide HPTC market share leadership, with 36 percent revenue share, a lead of more than seven percentage points over IBM, according to market research firm IDC in their "Q3 2003 High Performance Technical Computer Qverview" report
